Contest: Raising Awareness & Learning Facts About Lord Ganesha

🕉️Aapli Marathi Shala is excited to announce a special contest to celebrate and raise awareness about Lord Ganesha (आपले गणपती बाप्पा), focusing on his eight forms (अष्टविनायक) and six other famous Ganesha temples in Maharashtra. This contest is designed to engage our next generation and parents, helping them learn real facts about Ganpati Bappa’s rich history, significance, and temple locations.

This 14-day contest will begin on coming Sunday (2/9/2025), and each day, the Shala team will share a different image of a Ganesha Murti (मूर्ती) from either the Ashtavinayak set of temples or other famous Ganesha temples in Maharashtra. Participants must identify the location (ठिकाण), temple name, and share three factual details about that particular form of Ganesha.

At the end of 14 days, the top five participants who provide the most correct answers will be declared the winners! Winners will be announced at our Keertan (कीर्तन सेवा) March 22nd event, where they will receive a certificate and a special gift.🎉

This contest is aligned with our upcoming Keertan Seva program, which focuses on Ganesh Mahatmya and will take place on March 22nd in Mountain House. This is a great way to build excitement and deepen our understanding of Lord Ganesha before the event!

📌 Contest Rules & Criteria

1. Participation: Open to all kids and parents.
2. Duration: The contest runs for 14 days starting this Sunday.
3. Daily Challenge: Each day, a new Ganesha image will be posted in the Marathi community group.  
4. How to Participate: Participants must provide the following details:
5. The name of the Ganesha and temple
6. The exact location (ठिकाण) of the temple
7. Three factual details about that particular Ganesha form or temple
8. Submission Deadline: Answers must be submitted by 7 PM each day.
9. Scoring: Each correct response will be awarded 1 points, (total five things, name, location and three facts) and top five highest scorers will win.
10. Winner Selection: Based on the number of correct answers submitted over 14 days.
11. Prizes: Winners will be announced during our Keertan event (March 22nd) and will receive a certificate and a special gift.
12. Judging Panel: The Shala team will verify and score the answers based on correctness and completeness.
