अटी व शर्तीTerms & Code of Conduct

The community expectations, enrollment terms and liability waiver that apply when you join, enroll a child, or use our services.

Last updated: July 15, 2026

1. Acceptance

Aapli Marathi Shala & Community(“the Shala,” “we,” “us”) is a volunteer-run, community-funded non-profit. By enrolling a child, volunteering, creating a portal account, or otherwise using our website and services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Community code of conduct

Our Shala is a welcoming, family space. Everyone — students, parents, teachers and volunteers — agrees to:

  • Treat others with respect, kindness and patience, regardless of background or ability.
  • Keep our spaces safe and inclusive — no harassment, discrimination, bullying or abusive behaviour of any kind.
  • Follow the guidance of teachers and volunteers, and help maintain a calm learning environment.
  • Care for shared spaces, books and materials, and supervise young children as needed.
  • Respect the privacy of other families — do not share others’ personal information or photographs without consent.

We may ask anyone who does not follow this code to step away from an activity, event or the program, at the discretion of the organizing volunteers.

3. Enrollment & registration fee

  • Enrollment is subject to availability of spots in the requested batch and campus.
  • There is an annual registration fee (currently $130 per student), payable after your application is reviewed and confirmed. Fees help cover classroom space, books, materials and events.
  • Scholarships may be available so that cost is never a barrier — please contact us.
  • Fees are used to run the program and are generally non-refundable once the term begins, except at the organizers’ discretion.

4. Attendance & participation

Regular attendance helps children learn. Please arrive on time, inform teachers of planned absences, and drop off and pick up children promptly. Parents remain responsible for their children outside of scheduled class time unless a supervised activity is clearly stated.

5. Liability & waiver

The Shala is run by volunteers. Participation in classes, events, field trips (Shala Sahal) and activities is voluntary and at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that:

  • You release the Shala, its volunteers and organizers from liability for injury, loss or damage arising from participation, except where caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
  • You are responsible for informing us of any allergies, medical conditions or special needs relevant to your child’s safe participation.
  • In a medical emergency where you cannot be reached, you authorize volunteers to seek appropriate medical assistance for your child.

6. Photography & media

We sometimes take photos and videos at classes and events to celebrate and share our community’s work (for example on our website, newsletter or social media). If you would prefer that you or your child not appear, let us know in writing at contact@mhshala.org and we will do our best to honour your request.

7. Content & directory listings

Content on this site is provided for our community. Community business directory listings are offered as a convenience; the Shala does not endorse or guarantee any listed business or service, and any dealings are solely between you and that business.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
